Welcome to The Young Musicians of Muscat!

Finalists of Young Musicians of Muscat, 2007
Intisar Al-Wahaibi and Kaoru Shoji, winners in 2007, with other finalists

The Young Musicians of Muscat (or YMM) music competition was launched in 2003 by Phillip Stallwood. The competition is open to all students in the Gulf countries from the age of seven upwards.

The aim of the competition is to provide opportunities for young people to perform, to develop confidence and to share their talents with the community. It takes courage to perform before an audience, but by taking part, young musicians can take a positive step to realising their musical potential.

Winners and runners-up receive trophies and cash prizes and recognition in their communities which can lead to further openings. The competition has been very fortunate to receive corporate sponsorship.
